Top 10+ Baby Registry Essentials For The First Time Mom

Today I’m sharing the top 10+ baby registry essentials for the first-time mom! Obviously, I don’t have parenting experience just yet, but we spend a lot of time with our friends who have babies. They have introduced us to some must-have products that are game-changers for first-time parents, so I wanted to share what we put on our baby registry with you!

Baby Registry Essentials

#1 Owlet // This is something we consider an absolute must-have. Our friends have one for both of their babies and we have seen how much peace of mind it offers first-time parents. The baby wears the Owlet on their foot like a sock when they sleep, and it connects to an app on your phone to track the number of wakings, heart rate, oxygen level, sleep quality, total hours slept, and more.

#2 Haakaa // Something I learned from my breastfeeding friends is that while you’re nursing on one side, the other side automatically lets down milk too. You don’t want to waste ANY of that liquid gold, so the Haakaa is great for catching the extra milk!

#3 Baby Swing // This is the baby swing that we got and again, it came highly recommended by our friends with babies! We have seen it be a game changer for them, so we wanted to have it on hand for our girl. It’s a great price and can come apart to be a rocker when you don’t want to use it as a swing.

#4 Portable Sound Machine // Apparently, babies love a sound machine because it mimics what they are used to hearing in the womb. We got a couple of these portable sound machines to keep in her car seat and stroller for on-the-go.

#5 Magnetic Me Pajamas // These are absolutely genius. Every time I show someone in my family these magnetic pajamas, they are like “Where were these when we were raising babies?!” They make diaper changes so much easier without zippers or snaps.

#6 Snuggle Me // We got a Snuggle Me lounger because we’ve seen how much our friends’ babies have loved them! I feel like I should add a disclaimer here that these are not made for sleeping in, and you should always practice safe sleep with your babies. With everything, you have to use your judgement and do what feels safe for your baby! I ordered a cover for the lounger so that we could easily throw it in the wash, even though you technically can wash your entire Snuggle Me in the washing machine!

#7 Bassinet // We got the Dream On Me Bassinet to use for the first several months. She will sleep in our room and it will be so nice to have this bassinet right by my bed! The side unzips and opens up so that it can be flush with your bed, which will be very convenient for picking her up to nurse during the night.

#8 Hatch // The Hatch sound machine was recommended to us by tons of our friends. It acts as a nightlight and a sound machine. It can be changed to lots of different colors and has several sound choices (rain, white noise, wind, lullabies, and more). You can control it from your phone and program it to start/stop at certain times to help with your baby’s sleep schedule.

#9 Baby Carrier or Wrap // We have a couple of options for wearing our baby – we got both the Ergobaby Newborn Carrier and the Solly Baby Wrap because you never know what your baby is going to prefer!

#10 Keekaroo Peanut Changing Pad // We decided on this changing pad because it can be wiped down and will be easy to clean. Worth the splurge, in my opinion!
